Help During the Fair
Want to be part of the excitement? Volunteering at the Fair is a great way to meet neighbors, support your community, and for Bluemont high school students, it can even count toward scholarship eligibility.

Volunteer Opportunities
50/50 Raffle: We need people to sell 50-50 raffle tickets. Sign up here.
Admissions Gate: We’re looking for volunteers to greet Fair attendees, collect entry fees, hand out wristbands, and distribute schedules. These shifts are perfect for families or groups who want to work together.
Art Sale: We’re looking for volunteers to help with the Art Sale on Sunday after the Fair to help take down and pack up the artwork. Please sign up today!
Beer & Wine Garden: We’re seeking adult volunteers to sell beverage tickets and oversee the Beer & Wine Garden.
Caboose Minder: We’re looking for a volunteer to sit in the caboose and welcome visitors who wish to explore it. An interest in the history of trains in our area is a plus, but not required.
Children’s Fair: We are looking for teenagers and adults who enjoy working with younger children, setting up games, applying temporary tattoos, and helping at craft tables. Volunteers under age 13 must have an adult with them. Sign up here.
Climbing Wall: We need volunteers to help check people in at the rock climbing wall, as well as hands on deck to assist with setting up before the Fair and tearing down afterward. If you’re available to lend a hand, please contact Jen Stone.
E.E. Lake Store: We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help run the cash registers and sell t-shirts and baked goods at the E.E. Lake Store. Please sign up for a 2-3 hour shift today!
Gardener’s Shed: In the week leading up to the Fair, we need volunteers to help tidy the Shed behind the Community Center in preparation for its annual role as a retail spot for gardening enthusiasts. During the fair, we also need people to work the cash register, selling lovely garden- and art-related things. Contact Anna Billman.
Kubota Driver: We’re seeking several responsible adults who are familiar with the village to drive a provided utility vehicle during the Fair. Duties include transporting patrons—usually between the parking area and the Fair—and running occasional errands as needed.
Plaster Museum of Bluemont’s Heritage: We need people to greet folks as they enter the Museum (at the EE Lake Store). This role is sitting and indoors.Contact Lori Seeley.
Poster Distribution: We’re always looking for volunteers to help distribute Fair posters far and wide! If you’re willing to put up posters in nearby villages—or even in areas like Reston or Winchester—we’d love your help.
Snickersville Academy: We’re looking for volunteers to welcome visitors to this quiet, shady spot, hand out giveaways, and encourage children to create crafts with the materials provided. Sign up for a spot here!
Table/Chair Set-Up and Tear-Down, Trash Pick-up: This important task requires several volunteers—individuals or families—to be available on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM to set up tables and chairs, and/or Sunday evening at 5 PM to help collapse chairs and pick up trash throughout the village.
